First--updates.

I'm back on my computer. However, I am still missing files and trying to get all the programs re-loaded. Still, this is better than being on my mom's computer.

Shooting at the company picnic was actually more fun than I expected, and I did better than I expected as well. The shooting range had two sizes to loan out--20-guage and 12-guage. They generally only gave out one gun per group, but we had such varied size-and-strength range in our group that we needed one of each. My dad and Craig (one of the owners) shot the 12-guage, and me, Carol (one of my fellow office-grunts) and her husband Mario all shot off the 20-guage. Dad says that the gun I was using was still too big for me (or at least, too long), but I still got a respectible 15 out of 50 shots. Dad got 22, Craig got 23, Carol got 10 and Mario got 7. And we were basically the only group to save their scorecards, because they forgot to tell us there'd be a prize for the team with the highest score. Oh well.

My favorite of the clays to hit? The ones that were in close and came right towards you. They were VERY easy to hit. Then after those were the ones further away but still coming towards you, then the rabbit ones. I smoked my first two rabbit-clays.

Now, rant time!

...WTS is with me and not being carded?!?!?! I mean, I always looked younger than my age (imagine still getting asked for 10-and-under kids meals when you're 17/18!), but now whenever I do something that people should be carding me for, they don't do it!

I've never been carded in an indian casino.
I was carded once in Reno, and I wasn't actually gambling at the time, just watching Mom.
I practically had to shove my card under the server's nose when I ordered a strawberry daiquiri on my birthday.
And today I was buying a bottle of Arbor Mist at the store, and the lady at the checkout didn't ask to see my ID!

WTS?? Do I just ooze "I honestly am not breaking the law" or something?? *headdesk*

Edit: Whoops! Got the guages backwards. Fixed now.

Well, today when I was in Long's Drugs picking up a card for my aunt's birthday, I noticed a binder that was zip-up and came with a shoulder strap! But I didn't really like the front, and it was $14, so I was all 'no way!' and put it back. Good thing too.

My uncle and I were talking after dinner and before cake/presents about pins, and he mentioned that he had brought over some pins to sell (though they weren't Disney). Well, while we were looking through the garage sale stuff in the garage for them, I found a binder one of my cousins had put out to sell. It was a zip-up one, and would do great! So I just snagged it and put it with my stuff to go home. (Hey, anything taken from family before the sale starts is free!)

So I get home and I'm thinking, "Cool! Now I just need the shoulder strap and the inserts." And as I'm puttering about my room, I hit a bag I got for free from Grand Sierra in Reno... Well, it was a free bag so the quality wasn't that good. One day as I was getting out of the car with it over my shoulder the fabric holding the plastic loops that the strap was hooked to broke. That meant I could no longer use the strap with it, but the strap was still in good condition! So now I have a free extra strap for it!

See my handiwork? )

So I was able to cobble together something satisfactory for free compared to $14 at the store. Whoo!

Also when we were talking, my uncle told me about a pin seller that's always in the same spot at this one flea market who sells many kinds of pins, including Disney. However, I don't think I'll be able to get to one until I come back for Christmas. *sad*

And Em? My family's garage sale is at my grandma's this Friday and Saturday if you or anyone in your family wants to browse through it.
