Sock Yarn Crazy!

I'm going sock yarn crazy! I keep wanting to buy more! And it doesn't help that Knitty published an article encouraging people to buy/use hand-painted yarns, including going to people who will custom-dye the yarn. It mentions Mama-E being a very good person to go to for custom dyes. Now I've got several ideas for custom-dyed sock yarn in my head! So I'm going to detail them out here so I can wait until I've got time and money to buy them and still have my ideas!
1. Self-striping, school colors. Primarily maroon, but with some white, and then a little bit of charcoal grey to accent them. Leave actual proportions up to dyer.
2. Self-striping, Avatar cycle colors. Roughly equal amounts of each color. Yellow for air (shade of Aang's clothes); blue for water (shade of Katara's dress); green for earth (shade Toph uses, noticing a pattern?); red for fire (shade used on Fire Nation uniforms). Stripes in the order of the Avatar Cycle.
3. Self-striping, Autobot/Decepticon colors. The red and purple shades used in the insignias. Large, roughly equal stripes. Maybe thin black stripes between the two.
...And that's all I have. So far...
