I knit a pair of Hurry Up Spring Armwarmers from SnBN using yarn [livejournal.com profile] niteflite bought for me from a knitting convention at home. Yarn is a worsted weight 100% wool from Mountain Colors Hand-Painted Yarns, and the color's called Northwind. I find the color to be beautiful, and reminds me of storms on an ocean. Lots of greys, blues, and greens in it.

My tension seems to be a bit tighter than what the pattern calls for, despite using the same weight of yarn and needle size. That's fine, though, I just added two repeats of the 2x2 rib, and the fit's fine.

The pattern doesn't specify on exactly how to start the rib, and I didn't even think about it when I started the first one, so I started the way I normally do (as kkpp), but that means it's badly aligned for the cabling pattern. Silly me. I had already bound off the first one by the time I thought to check the pictures, and I'm more anal about having them match than I am about doing one right.

And I really should have also moved the thumb gussets over as well to center the pattern.

Overall I'm happy with them, though. ^_^

*CLINGS* Didn't you go to bed? ;P

Thanks. ^_^ I've wanted to try this pattern out for a while now--pretty much since I got the book.

lol You have all summer to knit them, though! It's too warm down there now for them. :P

And when you do knit a pair, remember that the 2x2 rib doesn't start with two knits.
