Just saw the movie last (Tuesday) night.
OMPOMPOMPOMPOMP!!!!!!!
I LOVED it. Okay, it had a couple things that made me upset, but overall? AWESOME.
Humor? Cracked me up! And though I had seen a lot of the special clips and trailers and stuff, but I was still guessing at what would happen next all through the movie. Jazz breakdancing as he transformed? AWESOME! And the special effects were very well done. The TFs looked REAL, and all the explosions were cool. And I've heard a lot of people complaining about the movie implying that Optimus and Megatron are brothers... Personally? I like it. I mean, I took it as being "fellow Cybertronians" type brothers when I first heard it, but as I thought about it, I really liked the idea of them being actual brothers. I dunno why, but I do.
My major peeves with this movie:
1. Jazz died!! ;_________; I nearly cried when Ratchet said he had gotten to Jazz to late to save him. Jazz was my favorite character in the movie! *sad, sad Flyby*
2. ...The one time Brawl is introduced? They give his name as "Devastator". Okay, I know that was his work-in-progress name, but his official name is Brawl! BRAWL! That's one MAJOR flub-up. Ticked me off when I saw it.
3. The lack of characterization of the 'Cons. Other than Frenzy, and a little bit of Blackout and Barricade, the 'Cons were just THERE. They had barely any shots, and basically no interaction. There was no Starscream scheming against Megatron (or even any interaction between the two outside of their meeting up just outside the dam), and none of them fought together... I only knew their attitudes from reading Ghosts of Yesterday. This is really my biggest "argh" thing with the movie.
However, the pluses vastly outweigh the minuses, so I will see it again. And again. And probably again. Because it is AWESOME.
I'm planning on seeing it again tomorrow, matinee showing. Hee.
