Life has a way with screwing with plans. Will get the second BotCon post up soon as I have time.

Meantime, I stopped by JoAnn's on my home. Had some really good finds in the red tag section (which were 50% off, on top of the red tag discount!).

These are the fabrics I got:


(Sorry about the horrible lighting, that was the ONE SPOT in the whole house that had the light to show true colors. Bah.)

Blue floral is cotton lawn, the green vine-y one is quilting cotton, and the blue with pinstripes is a linen/rayon blend.

I'm thinking of making View E of this dress in the cotton lawn. There was just enough fabric left on the bolt! :D And I'm thinking of maybe View D of this pattern for the linen blend, plus a pencil skirt if I can cut the fabrics right. I'm not sure what I'll make out of the quilting cotton... I have not quite 3 yards of it.

I'll try to get some! It's really hard to get good pics of them, though. XD I don't have anyone who's okay with a camera to take pictures of me in them, and it's rather hard to take pics of yourself. (Plus I fail at getting pictures when I'm hanging out with friends... Out of the four things I wanted to get pics of in at BotCon, only one had a deliberate pic of just me in it!)

Big sale, plus I snagged the mail-out ad from work with its 50% off coupons, and I'm on the list for the direct-mail ad with those 40% and 50% off coupons...

I'll try to remember to take them! :D I still need to go back and get boning... Hmmm. I might start adding boning to a lot of projects. XD Primus knows I could use the help!

Are you sure we aren't stalking each other? Because I've been eyeing that linen blend on the discount racks at my local Joann's... and also been wanting to make that first pattern. (The second pattern I haven't seen before; it's extraordinarily cute, and now I must buy it.)

LOL Maybe it's more of those fandom psychic links that pop up randomly? That's somehow translating to other stuff we do?

I got those two as well as some others when JoAnn's was having their 5 Simplicity patterns for $5 sale the week before BotCon.

Some other patterns that I have (though didn't necessarily buy then): Simplicity 2703 (http://www.simplicity.com/p-1653-misses-sportswear.aspx), Simplicity 2938 (http://www.simplicity.com/p-1843-misses-plus-size-sportswear.aspx), and Butterick 5461 (http://butterick.mccall.com/b5461-products-10844.php?page_id=152). I know I have others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. (And they're at the other house.)

Also! The linen blend seems to be pretty much the same fabric I used for the Prowl dress (and the outer fabric on the BotCon bag), so I have experience with it! I did enjoy working with it... Nice amount of stretch for wearing, but it doesn't stretch when you're working with it.
