So, I tried dying my hair again, this time with my mom to actually APPLY the dye. Results? Almost worse than the first time I tried. At least that time my hair still looked natural. This time the little bit of light blond that frames my face went ORANGE (as far as I can tell-hair's still wet), and my roots and the darker blond that composes most of my hair didn't take AT ALL. *growl* I'm not a happy camper right now.

And for those who wanna know: I used the Herbal Essence Natural Instincts (Non-Permanent), in Spiced Tea.

*stifled laugh* Eh.. yeah.. some of those colors you have to be careful with.

The first time I played with those wash-outs, I got something called "copper red". It made my hair turn this punked magneta red color that everyone thought was trippy. Still, I was glad it wasn't permanent!

Sounds like your hair is just too healthy to take the color. Too slick, as a beautician once explained to me about the horrible permanent results I got one time.

I think those non-permanent hair dyes don't use ammonia which opens up the hair shafts so they'll take the color so the color just sort of runs off or leaves a weird color behind.

Anyway, hope it looks better when it's dry.
