Picture splurge!

Sorry that I haven't been updating! But to make up for it... Pictures of items I've made in my ceramics class! All of these are raku-fired (western-style), so they're more decorative than functional. The pieces are weaker than high-fired stuff, but made from high-fire clay. And due to the western-style of raku (opening the kiln at its peak temperature and immediately removing pieces to bins filled with dry organic material, like newspaper, and then covered so that a reduction atmosphere is created), these aren't good for food or liquids. Any liquid will seep out, and if you try to eat/drink from it, everything will taste like ash. And plants grown in them will be decidedly unhealthy. Still, it's a pretty technique in its unpredictable-ness.

I'm willing to sell all but the Transformers Vase, with prices ranging between $5-$10, depending on size, plus shipping. I'm saving the Transformers Vase for a pencil-holder. Hee.

Thanks! I've been hearing that a lot. Heh. The problem is that one of the petals broke off. It's pretty much impossible to see with the angle of the top-view, but if you look carefully at the left part of the side-view, you can see where the outline dips down instead of rising...
