I have fanficcing in my blood.

Mom's high school friend C came by today and brought her yearbook, and some stories that they had co-written in 6th grade. What would, by today's standards, be fanfics.

So I come by fanfics naturally. :D

So over the weekend Mom seemed to get bad real fast. Then we stopped giving her IV fluids on Monday and she's bounced back a little. She can talk more than she could Sunday, and she's here with us mentally at least some of the time (if a bit loopy from pain meds). And she's being stubborn about wanting to get out of bed without help, even though she needs it. *sigh* But, stubborn and sassy is Mom. She's drinking, but still not really eating. And we're trying to keep her compfortable... Hard to do when she has a bad case of hiccups that Just Won't Go Away. The medicine we've been given for them only makes a dent in them, it doesn't make them go away completely.

*hugs tight* Everything I would say is trite compared the reality you are in right now.

But it is delightful that your mom write fanfic as a girl. I wrote my original pernese Mary Sues in notebooks in 6th grade as well, with my best friend <3

*hugs back* In some ways, the hardest part now is seeing how frustrated Mom is at how weak and mentally not-there she is. She's always fought and in her mind, she still is fighting to get better. None of us are telling her that's she's losing the battle. But she hates not knowing everything that she's taking and she's aware enough to know something's wrong, but is fuzzy-headed enough to not be able to understand what's going on.

It was very much a similar quality to what I was putting out, but it was still fun to hear that I wasn't the only one writing ridiculous fics at that age.
